Pediatric Outreach and Education

Pediatric Education

Our pediatric services extend beyond our hospital and into the community through partnerships with local school districts and youth organizations and educational foundations.

Annually, we reach more than 1,400 kids and parents in the community on health topics including stress, proper hand-washing, poison prevention, safety, nutrition and many more.

For more information about pediatric outreach and education, contact Ashley J. Heidler, MSN, RN, CPN, at 484.680.6822 or email AHeidler@dh.org.

Bucks County Children’s Museum

Our Della Penna Pediatric Center has collaborated with the Bucks County Children's Museum in New Hope to present a virtual hospital educational exhibit. "Hospital" by Doylestown Health features an examination area complete with X-ray machine and heart monitor, a life-sized operation game table where children can hone their surgical skills, as well as a kid-sized ambulance where children can learn about emergency medicine and the role of an EMT/paramedic. The exhibit includes the opportunity to learn about the organs, bones and other parts of the body.

The collective goal of the educational exhibit at the Bucks County Children's Museum is to expose children to different medical situations in a friendly, anxiety-free setting. Through role-play and exploration, children learn more about the medical field, how the body works and what it means to be healthy.

Health Matters

We have partnered with Central Bucks Schools to produce Health Matters with Doylestown Health, an educational program featuring expert guests from Doylestown Health, the community and the school district. The show brings to light timely topics of interest to local families. Students studying broadcasting at Central Bucks Schools produce and film the show. They also act as co-hosts and help develop questions for the panel of guests.

You can watch Health Matters on the Central Bucks School District cable network, CBTV on Comcast channel 28 and Verizon Fios channel 40 in municipalities that comprise the Central Bucks School District.
