Doylestown Health Primary Care is proud to welcome Louisa Rahner, DO, to its team of experts at the Buckingham location.
Dr. Rahner earned her medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her residency training at Reading Hospital Tower Health in West Reading, PA.
Skilled at providing routine, preventive healthcare as well as diagnosing and managing chronic illnesses in patients of all ages, Dr. Rahner also has a special interest and additional training in osteopathic manipulative medicine.
A Lifelong Love of Medicine
She first developed an interest in medicine at a young age after witnessing veterinarians caring for the animals on her family farm. That interest only grew as she had more exposure with human medicine. While she was in middle school, her father was diagnosed with high blood pressure. His new diagnosis prompted her mother to work hard encouraging a healthy diet and lifestyle for the family. As a result of her mother’s efforts, her father was able to control his blood pressure for several years without medication, and the family became healthier. Inspired by this experience and a passion to help people, Dr. Rahner felt that a career in family medicine was for her.
Philosophy of Care
Dr. Rahner feels strongly about partnering with patients in their care to achieve the best results. “It’s easy for me to say, ‘Well, this would be best for you,’” she says. “But I find it more effective to make it a joint effort and collaborate with them. I offer knowledge and insight, and we work together on a plan that would be best for them to optimize their own health and wellness.”
